"I had my first professional shoot for my brand Luana Collective with Maartje – and it turned out so much better than I ever dared to dream.
Maartje truly knows what she’s doing: she keeps an overview, is highly organized, and perfectly senses what’s needed on set. Her biggest strength is how effortlessly she makes everyone feel at ease. For this shoot, I hadn’t hired professional models — I asked my friends to pose. For many of them, it was a bit nerve-wracking, but Maartje — being both a photographer and a model herself — knows exactly how to approach it from both sides. She makes you feel absolutely beautiful, and brings out a version of you in photos you didn’t even know existed.

"When I came to Bali in 2022, I was looking for a photographer to help me shoot the new collection of my jewellery brand Naut & Chain. Through a mutual friend, I luckily found Overall North. Maartje understood exactly what vision I had for my brand and helped me bringing all my ideas to life, and there were many!
She supported us with logistics and ensured we could shoot at multiple locations in one day, making the production as efficient as possible. The result was a diverse range of imagery that I could use for a long time, beautifully capturing the full story of Naut & Chain. Every element came together perfectly. Overall North also included a videographer for our video campaigns, making sure we had a complete, all-in-one package.
I modelled for Naut & Chain myself, and I am very picky when it comes to photographers. But Maartje’s eye for beauty is exceptional. She knew exactly how to capture people at their most natural and radiant. I genuinely loved every single shot she took of me — choosing favorites was nearly impossible because I adored them all.
The first succesful shoot lead to another and in 2023 we shot another new collection of Naut & Chain with stunning shots as a result - once again.
